Introducing the “Tanzania Twenty” Published: 01 Mar 2017

In June 2017, twenty scholars from the Robertson Trust will be travelling to Tanzania to work alongside Vine Trust and our local partners on a home-building expedition. The Robertson Trust is currently the largest independent trust in Scotland which supports vulnerable people and communities in Scotland, encouraging young people to become future leaders and global citizens with a spirit of giving back to communities. Dubbed the “Tanzania Twenty”, the scholars will be the first group from Robertson Trust to get their hands dirty supporting the building of individual family homes in the Moshi area with Vine Trust.

Programme Manager for Overseas Education and Expeditions, Louise, is thoroughly excited to be collaborating with Robertson Trust to connect people to change lives: “Working with the Robertson Trust is a fantastic opportunity to engage young people in Scotland in supporting the empowerment and sustainable development of some of the most vulnerable communities in Tanzania. Not only will these twenty university students offer safety, security and hope for the families whose homes they build while in Tanzania, they will also use the skills and experiences gained while on the expedition to support their local communities back home."
