A word from the Vine Trust...
Orla is fundraising in aid of their Vine Trust School Expedition to Tanzania. Vine Trust School Expeditions are an opportunity for students to make a real and lasting difference to Tanzanian communities living in poverty. Working closely with our in-country partners, volunteers construct individual family homes for some of the world's most vulnerable people - providing shelter, security and hope, and empowering communities to achieve a brighter future.
Donations made through this page will contribute towards the cost of Orla's expedition, including international flights, accommodation, food, in-country transport, and the purchase of construction materials and resources. Any additional funds raised will go towards future Vine Trust construction projects and the development of Vine Trust's programmes.

Fundraising Activity
I’ve been selected to travel to Tanzania in June 2027 with my school as part of a partnership with The Vine Trust. Only 30 pupils were chosen, so I feel incredibly lucky to have this opportunity.I want to go to learn about a different culture, experience life in another country, and challenge myself by stepping outside my comfort zone. While we’re there, we’ll be supporting local communities through practical projects such as helping with building work and spending time with local children. Being able to meet and work with children in Tanzania will be an amazing experience for me. I hope to develop teamwork skills, confidence, and learn how to work alongside others to make a positive difference. The money raised will go towards supporting The Vine Trust’s work in Tanzania. I’ll be running bingo nights and ceilidhs with the other Innerleithen pupils heading to Tanzania, as well as offering help with cleaning, cooking and sewing in return for donations. I’ll also be making crafts and baking to sell, and getting involved in local fundraising events. Keep an eye out for updates!Share this page
