Lauren’s Tanzania Volunteering Expedition

A word from the Vine Trust...

Lauren is fundraising in aid of their Vine Trust School Expedition to Tanzania. Vine Trust School Expeditions are an opportunity for students to make a real and lasting difference to Tanzanian communities living in poverty. Working closely with our in-country partners, volunteers construct individual family homes for some of the world's most vulnerable people - providing shelter, security and hope, and empowering communities to achieve a brighter future.

Donations made through this page will contribute towards the cost of Lauren's expedition, including international flights, accommodation, food, in-country transport, and the purchase of construction materials and resources. Any additional funds raised will go towards future Vine Trust construction projects and the development of Vine Trust's programmes.

Many thanks for supporting Vine Trust – together we are helping to support vulnerable communities through effective and sustainable development.

Please note: Vine Trust does not accept responsibility for the fundraising activities of persons fundraising in aid of their expedition or the Trust. Any views expressed on this page are solely those of the named fundraiser and/or their donors, not Vine Trust.

Fundraising Activity

I am raising money to help fund my trip to Tanzania in 2019 with 23 other students from Earlston High School, where for 2 weeks we will help build new homes for those in need. It will be a fascinating trip, and a real eye-opener to experience the wildly different conditions and environments less fortunate people live with every day. It will be a humbling chance to make a real difference to communities and individuals, by giving them something physical that will improve their way of life and help them in so many ways.

How I'm raising money

In October I will be completing the 62 mile long St Cuthbert's Way to try and raise some more money, and throughout the year myself and my friend will be organizing various local fundraisers including bake sales, coffee mornings etc. Any donations you can give are immensely appreciated and all contribute to helping those in Tanzania have a place to call home, somewhere they can feel safe and protected.
