A word from the Vine Trust...
Maria Encarnac is fundraising in aid of their Vine Trust Medical Expedition to the Peruvian Amazon. Amazon Hope Medical Expeditions are an opportunity for volunteers to make a real and lasting difference to communities living on the Peruvian Amazon. Working in partnership with our in-country clinical teams, volunteers provide primary healthcare services to remote and isolated riverine communities, aboard our fully-equipped medical vessels, Amazon Hope 2 and Forth Hope. Vine Trust Medical Expeditions provide free, life-changing clinical testing, treatment and education to communities who would otherwise have little or no access to basic healthcare.
Donations made through this page will contribute towards the cost of Maria Encarnac's expedition, including international flights, accommodation, food, in-country transport, and a donation towards the medical programme. Any additional funds raised will go towards the maintenance and development of the Amazon Hope Medical Programme.

Fundraising Activity
My colleague and good friend Vic are on a mission to take our dental skills where they most needed! In May 2024 we will both be travelling to some of Peru's most isolated communities to join forces with the local health team and provide dental aid to people who otherwise don't have access to such essential services. For 10 days we will be travelling between villages that line the upper tributaries of the Amazon river in a boat equipped with a dental surgery. Despite the undoubted beauty that this part of the world affords, there will be little time to take it in as people from all over the region will be travelling to reach us in what are only limited opportunities to receive critical treatment that we often take for granted in the developed world as a quick "pop to the dentist" resolve. So please donate to help us give back smiles to those who've lost them...your donations count! Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
How I'm raising money
To raise money for this charity we are handcrafting unique items to sell at local christmas markets with all donations going towards this wonderful cause.
