A word from the Vine Trust...
Dawn is fundraising in aid of their Vine Trust School Expedition to Tanzania. Vine Trust School Expeditions are an opportunity for students to make a real and lasting difference to Tanzanian communities living in poverty. Working closely with our in-country partners, volunteers construct individual family homes for some of the world's most vulnerable people - providing shelter, security and hope, and empowering communities to achieve a brighter future.
Donations made through this page will contribute towards the cost of Dawn's expedition, including international flights, accommodation, food, in-country transport, and the purchase of construction materials and resources. Any additional funds raised will go towards future Vine Trust construction projects and the development of Vine Trust's programmes.
Many thanks for supporting Vine Trust – together we are helping to support vulnerable communities through effective and sustainable development.
Please note: Vine Trust does not accept responsibility for the fundraising activities of persons fundraising in aid of their expedition or the Trust. Any views expressed on this page are solely those of the named fundraiser and/or their donors, not Vine Trust.
Fundraising Activity
I'm raising funds to enable me to return to Tanzania in June 2024. Together with Senior pupils from Perth Grammar School, we will be building homes for vulnerable children and families. We will clear and level the sites for building on, dig the foundations, carry in bricks, cement and water, working under guidance from the local builders. The families currently live in substandard housing, exposed to the elements and wildlife. A solid, watertight home will improve their health and well-being.
How I'm raising money
I will organise some Relaxation sessions online and in person. I will arrange two fitness challenges which will be accessible to all. The first challenge is to Walk Mount Kilimanjaro in two weeks, a daily distance of 5k. I will be taking part in a Hyrox fitness event in the SEC in Glasgow on 2nd March. I'm currently training hard after a health setback in November. I will also organise a Smartie Tube Challenge, asking people to fill a Smartie tube with 20ps during February and March.
