What Your Money Can Do

In relation to the street children's work:

A pound can do the following:

  • Provide a meal and shelter for one night and a place of safety for two children from age 8 upwards who otherwise would have to steal or prostitute themselves in order to eat.
  • Provide a basic hygiene kit soap, toothpaste & brush for a street kid to be able to wash.
  • Provide free medicine / antibiotic to a child living on the streets.
  • Pay bus fares for two volunteers to participate in the street children's outreach programme.
  • Provide basic school supplies for a street child in our programme to be enabled to go to school. Pencil case, pen, sharpener jotter.

Two pounds can do the following.

  1. Care for one child for 24 hours in our full time residential centres. Including Food, shelter, access to school, clothing house parents and medical care.

    It actually costs 100US$ per child per month. The equivalent of 2 per child per day.

  2. Fund a visit to the doctor or dentist for a totally abandoned street child.

  3. Provide 1 gallon of fuel for the project minibus to run a soup kitchen/food outreach for up to 100 children one night in Central Lima.

Five pounds can do the following.

  1. Buy a new set of clothes & footwear for an abandoned child.

  2. Provide transport for a street child to travel to our new residential centre in the Peruvian Andes.

  3. Launders clothing and bedding for twenty children.

  4. Gives a main meal to twenty children at one of our day centres.
