Schools

In the Global village our communities are more interconnected than ever. Education is very important in helping young people to realise their responsibilities as a global citizens.

The idea and importance of global citizenship in the school curriculum has been growing. As a consequence the Vine Trust is looking to develop a programme for schools in which we can share some of our experiences of working in Peru.

This can help to foster a greater understanding of how another part of the world works, challenge stereotypes that we can have about another part of the world and learn from people's experiences in Peru.

BAE Systems at Barrow-in-Furness also launched an education programme for primary schools to coincide with the start of their refit of Amazon Hope 2 as a medical clinic. Download the resource book by selecting on this link.

School Trips

We are also offering schools the opportunity to visit our work in Peru under the auspices of their local councils. These two week long visits are the educational trip of a life time. We visit a number of locations in Peru, gaining a first hand experience of our street children, medical and enterprise projects and explore issues of poverty and inequality. If you would be interested in taking a group from your school to Peru please contact us.
