Everyone is a citizen of the globe but are we global citizens?!
Do we acknowledge our responsibility to all humankind as well as the earth itself? Global citizenship is about understanding the need to tackle injustice and inequality in our world, and having the belief that we can all make a difference!
Global citizenship education is in line with current government thinking, and is very important in helping children and young people realise their responsibilities.
The Vine Trust can play a significant role in enabling schools to create global citizens. The Vine Trust, with our experience in Peru and by sharing examples and stories can offer presentations and resources on:
- World Poverty
- Rights and Responsibilities
- Education for All
- Maternal Health
- Global Health and Wellbeing
- Peru – a different lifestyle
- Tanzania – a different lifestyle
- Faith in Action
- Global citizenship
- Vine Trust opportunities for schools and young people
Global citizenship is a growing and important theme within the Curriculum for Excellence and as a consequence we are developing further programmes and resources for schools in which we can share our experiences from Peru and Tanzania. Please get in touch with ideas or to discuss opportunities.
