Global citizenship

Everyone is a citizen of the globe but are we global citizens?!

Do we acknowledge our responsibility to all humankind as well as the earth itself?  In this Global village that we live in today our communities are more interconnected than ever before.  Global citizenship is about understanding the need to tackle injustice and inequality in our world, and having the belief that we can all make a difference!

Global citizenship education is in

line with current government thinking,

and is very important in helping

children and young people realise

their responsibilities.

The idea and importance of

global citizenship in the school

curriculum is growing and as a

consequence we are developing

programmes for schools in which

we can share our experiences

from Peru.

The Vine Trust can play a significant role in enabling schools to create global citizens offering curriculum on world poverty, global citizenship, religious and moral education.  For more information on our resources click on our primary and secondary pages.

Our Peru Expedition also offers senior pupils an 'education through experience', taking in the sights and culture of this South American country as well as seeing firsthand the work with street children and our medical projects.
