"Having been part of a work party in 2006, I was excited to return to Peru in 2007. I was amazed at the progress which has been made in the short space of 12 months.
In 2006 Rosa and Angel, the house parents, had not long moved into their new home in Kusi along with their two children and 4 abandoned boys, and the team which I was part of was the first work party to stay in Kusi.
In 2007 I, along with the rest of the work party, was welcomed by 23 previously abandoned boys. It was very obvious the love that Rosa and Angel had for these children and that they took time to get to know all the individuals that are now part of their ever growing family.
Along with more children being homed at Kusi, I was also amazed at how much building work had taken place. Knowing how demanding the tasks can be, it was wonderful to see that the building which I had been part of digging foundations for in 2006 was almost finished and part of my 2007 team were adding the finishing touches to it. I am now counting down to returning in 2008!"
